Spam-not the kind you eat, but of the internet variety is all pervasive-aggravating, sometimes comical, and can also be a malware host.
I’m closing in on 4500 pieces of spam on this blog-WP and Askimet do a great job of identifying and listing it as such with the option to delete or mark as not spam.
I would estimate that about 30 or 35 percent of the spam I receive is of the “sex date” variety -one would think that in never responding they would take the hint, but it’s probably all automated.
I’ve been praised for the blog while at the same time being asked to visit wedding dress sites-something called emotioncars, shoe stores, and just about anything else you could think of, and from all corners of the globe.
Not that it will do any good but I’d like to tell the spammers I’m not interested in a “date”, and most of the vehicles I’ve had a relationship have created emotions enough just in maintaining them.
I’m not, nor do I know of anyone looking for a wedding dress, or some trick to gather views for their blog-and as far as shoes go, I prefer to try them on before buying-just kind of eccentric that way.
For all the talk now about throttling and censoring the net one would think people would be better served in addressing the spam issue.
