  1. I used to work with a great grandson of Spotted Tail, a Whirlwind-Soldier. We spent hours talking about Indian World. Spiritual things would always happen around us. Like dragonflies and drops of water to the head. Overall he was a very intelligent, amiable and reasonable guy but dang if he didn’t buy into the Vernon/Clyde scenario at the time, 2006. I tried to give him as much info as I could from the Annie Mae side of things. He wasn’t raised on Rosebud, though. His parents took him to Havasupai so he didn’t have to encounter “all that reservation stuff.”

This simple statement speaks volumes, and something people should think
      about.
There are several versions about the murder of Spotted Tail-rivalry,
power struggles, alliances, and a woman-but the fact remains he was
slain and the Major Crimes Act came into existence because of that.
But then there are several versions about the murder of Annie and Ray
as well, and where they emanate from should be a consideration.
