Matthew King, perhaps most commonly known as Frank Fools Crow’s interpreter interestingly enough is at times referenced by the AIM and Peltier factions as a qualifier.
It shouldn’t be forgotten though that it was King who as an negotiator between the AIM and fed camps at WK2 also advised them that as many as a dozen murders had taken place within WK following it’s occupation by AIM.
I’m not aware if he knew or gave the specific locations of the graves or merely that they were in proximity to WK and contained the bodies of several women as has been often quoted.
That would be women- another act of bravery by the “warriors” of the AIM leadership who either participated directly or via the proxy of their minions.
One can only assume these women were murdered due to what they may have known, or protested too loudly as was the likely case with Annie Mae, or perhaps they were rape victims who some felt needed to be silenced.
Maybe depending on ethnicity they could qualify as hate crimes.
What nags at me is that with the information King provided why there was never a proactive search for the gravesites, after all that falls directly under the jurisdiction of federal law enforcement.
We still hear on occasion that a new tip has been received related to the murder of former Teamster leader Jimmy Hoffa, and yet another site is being excavated replete with cadaver dogs and ground penetrating sonar.
Hoffa was murdered in 1975-that’s thirty eight years ago, and yet all it takes is a “new tip” to ramp up the investigation again.
I can’t help but wonder if it is because it is a high profile case-one that has and will continue to garner huge national attention… while Annie is just another dead Indian and those murdered at WK 2 merely “activists”- malcontents representing a perceived “threat” to national security , the well being of the status quo, and mom’s famous apple pie.
Hoffa was a thug, a convicted criminal – AIM’s victims were not, as such I don’t feel as though his murder should be prioritized over that of others who were not.
Hell of thing if that’s the way of it.
Of late in the blog and thanks in part to the issue of a federal conspiracy http://kyoung4.wordpress.com/2013/11/22/the-lords-of-perception-part-2/ to murder Annie having arisen, a favorite ploy of AIM’s, and one in my opinion that has been thoroughly debunked and should be put to rest once and for all just as Peltier’s attempted alibi of Mr. X has been- AIM killed Annie, they killed Ray Robinson and others who lay among the graves Matthew King spoke of.
Peltier killed at least one federal agent, and by legal definition is equally guilty of the murder of Williams and Coler whether he shot one or both- nothing changes any of this-not conspiracy tales, lies, nor a lack of prosecution.
Yeah-after decades there have been three convictions in the murder of Annie-those of Arlo Looking Cloud, John the trigger man Graham, and Thelma Rios-hardly the end of it, hardly case closed, as not a one of them would have taken it upon themselves to abduct and commit murder- not even pie patrol matriarch and Russell Means relative Theda Nelson Clarke.
They were acting on orders, and those orders would have only come from leadership.
A leadership that has earned comparisons to the Mafia and the title American Indian Mafia.
As if this lack of pursuit following grand juries, court room testimony, witness accounts, and the inevitable wiretaps isn’t enough there is the additional knowledge, the additional affront, that not a single murder King spoke of has been prosecuted.
But as sure as the sun rises in the East more tips and excavations related to Hoffa will make the news again while they the media suck up and pander to AIM, inspired by a romantic liberalism that has done more harm than good.
The “noble redman”….. a concept the media is fixated on while blithely ignoring that not all are.
