    • If so then it seems you have been likewise shy, especially when it comes to blogs
      related to your boys.
Kissinger, another Nobel laureate no more deserving than Obama, and now one of
Hillary’s buds? Politics makes strange bedfellows as they say.
A Clinton/Kissinger ticket? Why not? The parties ought to just come out of the closet
and admit that where it counts there isn’t a nickel’s worth of difference between
      them.

  1. The question should be will we ever see Obama the “Leader,” or are we condemned to Obama the “politician?”

And we ended up with a brown-faced Clinton. Another opportunist. Another neoliberal opportunist. It’s like, “Oh, no, don’t tell me that!” I tell you this, because I got hit hard years ago, but everywhere I go now, it’s “Brother West, I see what you were saying. Brother West, you were right. Your language was harsh and it was difficult to take, but you turned out to be absolutely right.” And, of course with Ferguson, you get it reconfirmed even among the people within his own circle now, you see. It’s a sad thing. It’s like you’re looking for John Coltrane and you get Kenny G in brown skin.

    • The question is inherently wrong, it assumes Obama possessed the ability to lead
in the first place – the verdict was in almost immediately when he began appointing
Goldman Sachs Wall Streeters to key positions and as advisers.
It was apparent when no attempt was made to bring Bush and Cheney to justice, though
I understand the “logic” behind that.
To begin with the Presidency is very much a good ol’ boys club – they aren’t going to do anything to truly endanger each other – had Obama unleashed the DOJ he would have opened the door to go after every president past, present, and future… no president will ever do that for fear they too could become vulnerable to arrest and prosecution.
Diplomatic immunity is nothing in comparison to the Teflon they are coated with.
During the Bush administration there was a total of something just under thirty drone strikes, that number now exceeds seven hundred and raises the legitimate question – whose war is it, Bush’s or Obama’s?
The majority victims of such strikes are invariably non combatant men, women, and children.
Does that qualify as war crimes?
Gitmo could have been closed as promised by executive order, a signing, just as he is talking
about now related to other issues.
As Commander in Chief he could have exercised the authority incumbent to that “rank” to close Gitmo as well, yet as Commander in Chief he maintains Gitmo and presides over secret prisons in foreign lands where “renditions” are still the way of it.
Which by the way is a direct violation of the Geneva Convention of which this nation is a signator of.
