Seems like I just can’t catch a break when it comes to shoes – of course it’s my own fault as I buy what’s cheap. But I mean really, after two months or so the latest pair is unraveling?
Thank you China, Taiwan, or whoever “made” them. I’m beginning to wonder if Gucci makes work boots/shoes and if so maybe I should go for a pair if they do.
Something trendy or avante garde, an exotic leather like Mongoose or Hyena with nail points decorating the heels and toe caps, and a power cord for laces.
Saw a new line in Walmart the other day, don’t know if they were reduced or not ( no sign saying they were) for five dollars.
A friend I was with got all excited, pointed out I could use a pair, and went about encouraging me like they would get a commission on the sale.
New shoes for five dollars? That would be work shoes – even I have enough sense not to bite on that. Be lucky if they lasted a week.
I’ve been wondering if maybe I just need to toughen up – soak my feet in brine like fighters used to do their hands and go barefoot?
If it were only about contending with snow, mud, and all that I could handle it if need be…..but nails, screws, splinters and the like…..I don’t think so.
That’s where ruminants have it over everyone else, that hooved thing. And if a horse is shod their feet become like steel toed boots.
Those five dollar shoes? Well my friend went for a pair and I got an email from them saying they’re crap…..seems like they’ve already begun to unravel.
And yup, hasn’t even been a week. Go figure huh?
Am I rubbing it in? Oh yeah, and we’re both rolling on the floor over it.
Always one for a “bargain” I told him I had run across a solar powered clothes dryer I could help him acquire cheap – with a mixture of interest and caution he said he had never heard of one, how did they work, and how much?
I told him the operation was simple – you run the rope between two trees and hang clothes on it with the supplied clothes pins, all for the ridiculously low price of five dollars…..said he’d talk to his wife about it and get back to me.
If he did I suspect he has a knot or two on his head by now.
