I don’t know if people are aware of or been following the Star Knowledge crowd, but it’s filled with all the new age trappings from “moon dances”, angels, aliens, and Ley lines connecting sacred sites.
There’s an abundance of “chiefs”, prophets, messengers, and of course pay to pray/play conferences, gatherings, and appearance fees.
Fitting I suppose in view of the names those associated with it adopt and see themselves as stars, have their groupies, and work to that promotional end.
“Traditional” attire is big, some of the bonnets so over the top as to be comical, but of course necessary to accessorize the costume and delineate chiefs and prophets from mere accolytes and “seekers”.
The formula is a sure fire one – take a measure of mysticism, ufo’s, crystal skulls, add titles like prophecy keeper, chief, grandmother or grandfather so and so, stir in some feathers, pipes, drums, beads, and fringe and you’ve got a guaranteed money maker for those seeking “spiritual enlightenment”…..you can even purchase t-shirts and other paraphenalia.
Predictably the Means estate is jockeying for a presence as well – couldn’t be any other way I suppose as Russell Means entire life was a long running scam.
Now on the surface one might be inclined to just laugh it off, I’m not inclined to do so as I see it for exactly what it is, yet another corruption of the nations beliefs, and I don’t give a damn how they go about it explaining or attempting to justify their antics.
As there is money to be made I expect this aberration to grow, from the wannabes to the hustlers and grifters among the nations.
Money, the key element, as irresistible as catnip is to a cat or drugs and alcohol to an addict, and has nothing to do with walking the “red road”.
It’s about the path leading to the shearing pens where the sheep will be shorn, the road to cultural genocide that culminates in assimilation – a road that will probably end at pe sla as it becomes a new age Mecca where all the “last real Indians” will gather to hawk their wares and drink from the “sacred chalice”.
