Leading developed nations in child poverty – you would think this statistic alone would be enough for people to oust every business as usual politician, but it hasn’t.
You would think it would be enough for the electorate to tell individuals like Rush Limbaugh and his liberal counterparts to shut the hell up.
Enough for people to say enough.
It’s as though the electorate has been bitten by a werewolf or vampire and transformed into hope to die irreversible party partisans.
Oh sure, during the day to day the electorate will grouse and complain about the conditions they find themselves in but let the full moon of party rhetoric, fear mongering, twisted facts, outright lies, and what can only be interpreted as complacency arise and the transformation is in full swing.
If you find this statistic unsettling then gird yourself and consider others listed in the link below – having done that ask yourself if you’re willing to perpetuate more of the same in voting for entrenched politicians on both sides of the aisle who are owned by corporations.
Ask yourself if this is the “American Dream” – the threat isn’t change or seeking a new direction leading to equity, it is staying the present course and being led around by the nose.
Ask yourself if this is what a democracy is all about?
