I don’t believe anyone would seriously refer to Donald Trump as a “religious” man, sure he’s going on now about being some sort of devout Christian but that’s related to the “religious right” and threats posed by Cruz and Rubio who have a greater popularity among that demographic than Trump does.
In the below link a well known Republican of former times, Barry Goldwater, voices his opinion about ignoring the separation of a church and state and the consequences should the opposite become the way of it.
Recently Trump encouraged his supporters to stay unpredictable, that may have been a misstatement, he may have intended to say remain predictably stupid mimicking their “great” leader.
Just a few short years ago Trump was singing the praises of Bill Clinton as an avid supporter and said he was a great president – following that and during Hillary Clinton’s tenure as Secretary of State he also praised her and said she was great.
Trump of course knows that won’t resonate with the base he’s cultivating so he’s done a one eighty.
Transparent? Even to a blind cave fish …. but not his equally myopic school of sheepshead fish ’cause they’ve got guns, flags, and a bible. If they have to think about anything beyond that it gives them a migraine.
Trumps running a shell game – a little of that three card monte shuffling and stacking the deck as he goes along – if you lose playing three card monte the dealer may well tell you better luck next time – if Trump should actually become president next time will be four years away and a lot could be lost ……. that’s something to think about.
