Before anyone jumps to the conclusion that I’m writing in support of Ammon Bundy I want to say I am not, but if you look at the linked graphic there are a lot of questions in my opinion why the government owns so much land – they in fact own almost all of Nevada lock, stock, and barrel.
Last Real Indians following the AIM standard of attempting to insert itself into current hot button topics and present some semblance of relevance makes the following statement:
“However, there is another angle to be considered and that is the Armed Anti-Government Protesters are attempting to re-claim land from the United States that was stolen from the Paiute people of the area.”
As though to say or suggest that the occupation is somehow the equivalent of what the nations and in this instance the Paiute have experienced while acting as some sort of cheerleader.
Or is that “Armed Anti – Government Protestors” should be applauded for “reclaiming” land that was stolen in the first place?
But I agree Chase, there is more than one “angle” and you seem to have attempted to play them all.
Those who live on the adjacent Burns Paiute Reservation consider the wildlife refuge to not only belong to them but sacred also.
If you look at this in that context then not only has the government occupied sacred ndn land but now the Bundy gang as well – yet another illegal occupation, one that Chase Iron Eyes of LRI seems to think serves a greater purpose.
Maybe CIE needs to talk to a photo of the Burns rez Paiute as he went on about he did with a photo of Obama prior to Obama’s visit to the Standing Rock rez and explain it all to them – tell them about his vision for the future and what he believes as a person who “leads by reputation”.
Better yet since CIE seems to allude that this is something worthy of support he should put his commodity cheese, or maybe it’s Brie, where his mouth is, gather some of his “rainbow” and AIM buds and join Bundy in a show of solidarity – sort of lead them by reputation while hanging around the Refuge office waiting for photo ops.
Politicians come in all shapes and sizes, some hold office and some aspire to – I don’t believe there’s any babies to kiss at the Malheur Wildlife Refuge building itself and that might be a mitigating factor – I could be wrong though.
CIE’s mention of WK2 is hardly relevant, one of the “angles” – at least so far there’s been no plundering, hostage taking, arson, rapes, no aging wheelchair bound men put of their homes and into the street, or murders by the occupants so far.
No one like Dennis Bank$ instructing underlings to dispose of the body of a black civil rights worker, no unmarked graves containing the remains of women and men.
No loud mouthed grifters like Russell Means, who by the way is the one who had a handicapped elder by the name of Wilbur Riegert tossed into the street so Means could have an office and a place to flop his sorry ass at WK2.
The Bundy gang hasn’t burned the Refuge office to the ground as AIM did the WK museum, they haven’t accepted tens of thousands of dollars as the AIM leadership did during the BIA takeover and then go lay up in hotels and party.
There’s no Annie Mae Pictou Aquash to shoot in the back of the head.
Funny thing, in an effort to promote that LRI thing during WK2 it was important to really go native and erect a tepee or two to showcase for the media, what’s laughable is AIM had to enlist the aid of white man to show them how to go about it.
By the way, like the face paint in the photo at the bottom of the linked
article – something left over from the rainbow crowd face painting booth or Halloween?
