It’s no secret Trump has at least in his own mind elevated himself to a position of complete unaccountability, if anyone has doubted that his claim that he has the ability to shoot someone and it wouldn’t make any difference to the lemmings who follow him speaks volumes.
Trumps followers include a huge number of conspiracy theorists, they have a conspiracy theory for just about anything you can name from Fema to ISIS camps in Texas, and of course the obligatory they’re coming to take our guns.
Trump’s recent claim is tailor made for conspiracy theorists, any one of them worth their salt would have jumped on this if said by another candidate claiming either he or she was part of a master plan to execute Americans.
They would have cobbled together a list of “proofs”, confidential statements by sources they aren’t at liberty to name, and maybe even a few photoshopped images to verify their claim.
Inadverdently Trump has made a case for a reasoned approach to gun control that would keep guns out of the hands of the mentally ill – but wait, maybe it wasn’t inadverdent, maybe Trump is part of the conspiracy to seize all those guns, a Trojan horse, and he was sending a secretive message to code pink and that Muslim president who was born in Kenya.
Maybe this sudden pandering to Christians is merely a ploy, something demonic, and Trump is the anti christ.
Maybe his failed Taj Mahal was actually meant to be the new Temple from which he would rule – the possibilities are endless and require nothing in the way of proof other than the most favored negative proof of conspiracy theorists that the lack of proof is actually a proof in itself that a conspiracy exists…… convenient how that works isn’t it?
Will Trump’s latest claim make a difference to his followers? I don’t think so as they like the Strawman in the Wizard of Oz the thing what they lack most is a brain.
If conspiracies and Pied Pipers are to be a discussion then it must be inclusive of the Republican Parties puppetmasters – and that would be the Koch Brothers.
Billionaires mutliple times over whose ambition is not just the acquisition of wealth but political influence as well – an influence that would allow them to completely alter the face of American society, an agenda apparently embraced by conservatives whether they struggle with a low paying job, live in a van down by the river, are on some form of public assistance themselves, or are financially secure.
In other words they’re true blue gun totin’ patriots whose sole concern is making America great as they whine about the Constitution being destroyed while everything they say it stands for is systematically eroded.
They don’t need a fair shake, clean air and water, a decent wage, jobs, or any of that, much less their children – all they need is a gun, a flag, and time to spend chanting USA, USA, USA.
