It was kind of funny to watch the Republican candidates going at each other about flip flopping on various issues last night, not that I have an issue with a candidate changing course if it’s genuine.
But that’s seldom the case when it comes to election cycles, what it’s about is an attempt to cover the bases and resonate.
It isn’t something peculiar to the Republicans as Hillary is flopping around like a fish out of water – but then as I say, it’s an election cycle.
I don’t think anyone is more adept at this than Trump though when you look at his history, his donations and who he donates to like the Clinton Foundation and Hillary.
There isn’t anything genuine about Trump, he’s like a mutating virus whose goal is to infect the host, a third rate reality show actor who has a limited number of lines and gets confused if he has to go beyond that.
Caught between a rock and hard place he decided to put together a fund raiser for wounded vets, something to deflect questions as to his reasons for avoiding the latest debate while attempting to cast himself as being wounded himself.
Wounded by “insults” real or imagined from Fox News and specifically Megan Kelly, this from a guy who has more insults than Don Rickles.
Well, there’s an old saying that if you can’t take the heat stay out of the kitchen, and that’s exactly what Trump opted to do – of course his fawning supporters are obliged to either conjure up excuses or ape whatever emanates from Trump command central making themselves look as foolish and dysfunctional as Trump is – but to be expected from those who populate cults.
Trump isn’t the only one who found himsef between that proverbial rock and a hard place, the Republican party is in the same fix.
I mean take a look at the candidates they have to offer – take a look at who they came up with in the last presidential election. Mitt Romney, serioulsy?
Oh yeah, that Trump wounded vet fundraiser? Well, the Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America, an organization that has a membership of over 150,000 has essentially told Trump to stuff it, they don’t believe it is an issue for Trump to employ as a political device and I couldn’t agree more.
Sounds like they threw some shade Trump’s way so what will he and his supporters response be? Kick the organization to the curb, hurl some insults their way, or demand to see birth certificates?
But not to worry, maybe Trump can donate something to the Clinton Foundation, or with his sudden Christian awakening build a cathedral and name it after himself.
