An estimated 300 wolverines left in the lower forty eight and the Fish and Wildlife Service doesn’t consider them endangered?
Too often agencies like FWS elect to set their mandate aside and cater to what one could refer to as vested interests, fortunately the judge in this particular case, Dana Christensen,
wasn’t having any of it and delivered something of a smack down to the FWS.
To refer to wolverines as incredibly tough isn’t the half of it – they are fearless, amazingly strong, and won’t back down from an opponent(s) multiples larger than they are.
Being of the weasel family they’re wound kind of tight and even have a scent gland they’ll “mark” a kill with if the mood strikes them that a skunk would be envious of.
On another note I had a friend send me a link about beavers and raspberries – wonder what they have common? Follow the second link below – you may never look at beavers or some foods you like in quite the same way again.
