An arm, an eye, hosed with water in freezing weather, rubber bullets, teargas canisters, concussion grenades, no big deal just boys with their toys serving and protecting right?
Just another day in the land of the “rule of law”.
The “benefits” of exercising free speech, freedom of assembly, and the right to address grievances.
Gee, imagine what could happen if such rights were ignored, if they were circumvented and “laws” were made up on the fly.
Imagine what could happen if corporate interests and influence were prioritized over that of the common people, the environment, and any consideration of what is just, morally defensible, or treaty rights the highest court in the land had previously declared to be the supreme law of the land were flagrantly violated.
How would you as an individual define that? Would you say it is the best interests of the nation?
Would you say it is about “the rule of law”, that “anarchists” and neer do wells got their just desserts?
Or that corporate interests always trump every other consideration and that like the parent who has no other explanation to give a child other than because I said so, or you don’t understand and someday you’ll thank me that it is enough for corporations to say likewise?
Do you believe that every law is just, that the “wisdom” of all law is inherently greater than those who too often live under it’s crafted and selectively biased intent and application?
Do you believe unarmed women pose a threat to armed and “highly trained” men?
