Plenty of snow to go around and the conversation turned to snowflakes, what seems to be the near impossibility that no two are exactly alike.
But then if you think about it in the context of variations in all things it no longer seems so mysterious.
The below linked blog touches upon the artistry that is all around us that we often fail to see due to familiarity.
We know there is a sunset each evening, we take that for granted unless particularly spectacular – the same with leaves until they adorn themselves in fall colors, yet in stopping to examine one at any time of the year the artistry is undeniable.
A new year lays before us, our words and our deeds the palette from which we will draw upon to render the narrative of our lives.
Words and deeds that will speak to hope, desire, aspirations, strength, weakness, selflessness, compassion, the ability to love, and ultimately character – threads to employ in the tapestry of our lives.
And so below:
Artistry from 6-18 -15
Artistry – life is inundated with art from the rising and setting of the sun to the geometry of a snowflake – a simple haiku to an epic work like Gibran’s The Prophet or Whitman’s Leaves of Grass.
The artistry of words, music, art, design, motion, and the natural world, a tapestry of thought, creativity, instinct, emotion, and colors surround us like a whirling Dervish.
Perhaps no greater example of artistry exists than that of a child’s imagination viewed through a prism of innocence, the honesty of being a decent human being, an expression of endearment, or a touch, for we all paint on a canvas of our individual existence and in doing so influence the creativity of others.
