Well, I don’t know if the relationship has reached this point yet but the Putin/Trump bromance is certainly growing.
So much so the nation is expected to believe that seventeen intelligence agencies cannot possibly be correct in comparison to an individual whose vocabulary is said to be restricted to two hundred words.
Anyone can claim they are a “genius”, that they know “many words”, that they even know more than experts in various fields, but the truth is always revealed the moment they open their mouth – and that is the reason why Trump is surrounded by a cadre of sycophants and spin doctors.
As George Orwell pointed out in his novel 1984 it’s something of an essential for governments to have enemies as a catalyst for nationalism and patriotism – history seems to validate that whether the enemies are real or manufactured.
It’s obvious the ideology of Russia and the United States are diametrically opposed, a difference long established and acknowledged- it’s also obvious that Putin as a former high ranking KGB officer is a game player and he’s playing Trump like a fiddle.
Trump’s ignorance doesn’t alter the realities, nor does his bombast and assertions that he’s a genius.
Not withstanding all that and whether a foreign nation is friend or foe hacking to influence a national election is not acceptable. and if the meme is the United States has done likewise then the obvious response by victim nations would be to respond rather than gloss it over because it’s been done before.
In Trump’s ignorance he suggests the victim is to blame, that’s the same mentality that attacks rape victims by insinuating they asked for it or anything other than a virgin.
Now if the idiocy of a defense such as this were the norm there be no domestic or foreign laws related to hacking, criminals could do as they pleased without fear of punishment – and that’s what Trump’s supporters should be considering, they should ask themselves if they were hacked are they singularly to blame? Should the hacker be held blameless because they asked for it?
You can’t really blame a person for being stupid depending on a variety of things, but you can blame them for abusing the privilege and wallowing in it.
