We keep hearing formulas, speculation, wishful thinking, and obscure interpretations about how and when Trump could or will be impeached.
He certainly warrants impeachment and so I thought I would add another scenario.
But let’s consider a few obvious facts first before going there – to begin with the election of Trump is the fulfillment of the conservative dream, the culmination of manuverings and sacrificial offerings at the corporate alter.
As such Trump is the ideal candidate if an impeachment were to be the way of it.
Time passes, the alt right conservative agenda is realized in the midst of a public hue and cry, ongoing protests, a media that overcomes it lethargy and does it’s job, and those good ol’ god fearing family values Conservatives answer the call and impeach, in affect washing their hands and attempting to claim the high ground.
No doubt this would be accompanied by a great deal of theatrics – public hand wringing, seeking guidance in prayer, and a sincere patriotic desire/duty to preserve and safeguard the Union.
What will they have lost? They’ll still have Pence, a stacked Supreme Court, every nefarious deed executed and legislation enacted – it could be a win win for them.
Politicians may be about the party but even more than that they’re about getting re – elected, and if Trump is seen as an obstacle to being re elected and maintaining a majority in the House and Senate he’d get kicked to the curb faster than you say can good riddance and don’t let the door hit you on the way out.
Probable, who knows? But possible? I’d say so.
The precedent was set when former Republican president Nixon was forced to resign rather than be impeached.
In the aftermath Trump would probably attempt to sue the entire country, rail about conspiracies with his favorite words of “sad” and “unfair”, blame it all on “illegal” votes and “Mexican rapists”, announce that he no longer considers Kellyanne a ten, then tweet himself into exhaustion.
