I have a friend who is a Christian given at times to quote a scripture or two when they feel it is appropriate, or sometimes to instill a little humor in a situation.
In discussing the linked article he said “ and a child shall lead them” which I assume is scriptural in origin.
Kind of a telling analogy that “children” have a greater understanding and concern for the environment and the impact of climate change than the Trumpkins do.
That they exhibit an awareness of the future conservatives either lack or are indifferent to.
Obviously they don’t buy into the manifested ignorance of dear leader that climate change is nothing more than a Chinese hoax.
There have been more than a few articles expressing the opinion that Trump suffers some form of mental illness, and while I’m certainly no expert on the subject I find such opinions credible.
We’re not talking some minor OCD like avoiding walking under a ladder or tossing a pinch of spilled salt over the shoulder, more of a near complete disconnect from reality.
Mental or emotional disorders are no laughing matter, they aren’t something to be taken lightly.
And while society no longer locks those who suffer such a problem in a basement or attic it really isn’t a topic that’s discussed much with the exception of say an organization like the NRA that would have you believe all gun violence can be attributed to mental illness – that guns don’t kill people mental illness does.
Pharmaceutical companies know a good thing when they see one and have risen to the occasion.
They seem to believe the entire nation should be medicated in some form or another, and if a “syndrome” hasn’t been named as yet they’ll support the discovery of any that are.
The stress of modern times impacts people differently, that isn’t a personal fault thing, just a reality that doesn’t make them less manly or less womanly.
We enter life gasping for our first breath and exit gasping for our last – the distance between the first and the last breath is defined by what we do with what we have, with each breath we take.
Throwing salt over your shoulder or avoiding crossing under a ladder has little to do with that, narcissism and lunacy on the other hand do.
Pre existing conditions could in all likelihood be exacerbated by the high stress of the presidency – factor in the enabling and the known kow towing of sycophants and it doesn’t bode well.
If it takes children to do what adults won’t then so be it – in turn maybe they can say what parents have been inclined to say to them ……. someday you’ll thank me.
