There’s a learning curve associated with any endeavor a person undertakes, sometimes it’s relatively smooth sailing and other times requires more of a dogged determination and plodding along.
Success is associated with self discipline, the possible exception being savants.
I’ve always been tactile oriented, hands on, something I can hold – give me a piece of wood, a blueprint, a load of building materials, tell me what you want, and you got it.
Hand me a piece of paper and and tell me to draw something and more than likely what you’ll see you may not recognize – which is kinda weird as I’ve been carving for years and received a lot of compliments.
Even sold a piece or two, though I’m not much into the selling thing and mostly it’s about gifting or responding to a request.
When it comes to art I don’t know if I’m envious or just awed and respectful, but I consider the ability to paint and draw a true gift – and there are some outstanding artists among the nations.
One of my earliest layering attempts – I was elated with my “success”, thought I had it goin’ on – realize now I didn’t.
Come a distance since then and it’s been worth the effort.
