Depending on who you ask you’ll either be told black is or isn’t a color – I’m not much interested in such questions as to me it is a color.
The same could be said of white – don’t care much about the technical or rhetorical aspects, it’s a color to me.
Both black and white can be manipulated in photography, in photo editing that is often a primary concern, so I tend to favor the more simplistic perhaps uneducated approach and say Well, if they weren’t colors they’d be invisible…..that works for me.
My preference is what people commonly think of as color, but black and white have their place and are capable of making an entirely different photographic statement.
I’m assuming the reader is able to view the photo, that it isn’t invisible ……… if not then my interpretation of what qualifies as color should be ignored.
