The clock is ticking related to DAPL regardless of what the outgoing administration may do.
The Republican agenda will amount to a feeding frenzy to undo all things Obama, and while I admit some things should at least be open to discussion any gains related to the environment are not.
I consider the pending Trump administration to be a looming disaster along the lines of a category five hurricane – a child playing with the loaded gun of presidential power being egged on by other children, a scenario that never ends well.
The rancor that exists between the parties is palpable and isn’t going away any time soon if ever – an inescapable reality.
It’s payback time and petty minds revel at the mere thought and opportunity – the former administration needs to be punished as do their supporters and what better time then when all three branches of government will be controlled by the same party?
Do I believe that everyone has a voice and the right to employ it? Absolutely, but I’m also a little bit amused by the cavalcade of “celebrities” the Democratic Party trots out as a part of their strategy.
Personally I’m not much interested in what such celebrities have to say as they venture forth from their wealth induced insulation – I may or may not agree with a position they take, but the mere fact that they employ celebrity has zero influence on me.
It’s going to be interesting following the bold statements by a number of them that they’re leaving the country if Trump is elected to see if they actually do – if so then catch you later Miley etal and no big loss.
It’s also interesting that George Clooney held a celebrity laden and big money private fundraiser for Hillary and when called on it said yes it was deplorable in the midst of issuing his personal mea culpa.
And that’s the underlying problem – perpetuating what is admittedly wrong, the attitude that somehow yet another wrong will serve to make things right.
Then you have the Koch brothers who having constructed their own personal Olympus seek to impose their will, their “vision”, that ultimately translates to one thing and one thing only – increasing their wealth and influence.
They were vocal in their disdain of Trump, now let’s see if they put their money where their mouth is following his election or buy cheap with an eye to future profits.
We’ve got a president elect awash in a history of personal bankruptcy, of stiffing people, what are the odds that he will bankrupt the economy and the nation?
Think advisors like his brood, Guiliani, Carson, Christie, and other equally out of touch misanthropists are capable of preventing such an occurrence?
If Carson becomes Surgeon General will rebuilding the infrastructure include pyramids to “store grain” as part of healthy dietary regimen? Perhaps distribute knives to children so they can attempt to stab others and maybe learn a little something about opening a person up?
If Guiliani becomes USAG will he have to prove he can even spell the word constitution?
What about Christie, will he head up the transportation department?
How about Hannibal Lector, Freddie Kruger, and Jason, will they get the call to serve? You know, there will be a lot of cabinet and diplomatic posts available.
How about Ivanka, maybe some high ranking trade negotiator position since she already has trade agreements with China to produce her “fashion” line, besides that dad can’t stop talking about how hot he thinks she is.
Nepotism, cronyism, and despotism on a grand scale – hey, at least half the country really has lost their f****** mind as an article sent to me proclaimed.
This Trump victory has some announcing it a victory against “elitists”?
Elitists …. really? How so? Are the disenfranchised or those struggling to make ends meet Elitists?
Are those who want equal opportunity, a decent living wage, affordable healthcare, and a burning desire to overturn the apple cart of trickle down economics that for over three decades has translated to trickle up economics Elitists?
Are those who want a clean environment for their children, quality air to breathe, safe water to drink, or food that hasn’t been poisoned Elitists?
I don’t think so, and I don’t believe anyone is capable of making that argument or sustaining it.
Conservatism – isn’t there an implication in the word that we should conserve resources not exploit them hastening their depletion as we destroy our environment?
How about the evangelicals who predicate every ignorance they come up with as being god’s will and a strict adherence to the “word” – doesn’t that imply they should be the “good stewards” of the environment as well? Or is it just about the thirty pieces of silver?
And what is this bastard doctrine they refer to as the “prosperity doctrine” that enriches the “prophets” and those “anointed” to spread the word as they perform fake healings, speaking in tongues as the spirit overtakes them, and “slaying” people in the spirit accompanied by a physical nudge and an expectation that the recipient either fall or be seen as some sort of heretic as they hide behind the separation of church and state running scam after scam?
What exactly is it that makes them conservative? Is it their Elitist arrogance?
How about politicians across the board, Wall Street, the banking industry, corporations and the bloated salaries their CEO’s undeservedly enjoy, are they elitists?
Does the fact that the substandard healthcare provided by IHS for indigenous people make us elitists?
Is a child who grows up on a diet of Chinese lead laden formula, powdered milk, powdered eggs, and never having enough an elitist, or is the child insulated by wealth who has thousands of dollars of toys, the best money can buy to eat, fur coats, and custom made shoes and clothes to wear to private high end schools the child of elitists?
Are wealth and elitism confined to only one political party or does it know no boundaries?
Elitists are everywhere, in our world they’re known as the AIM leadership and corrupt politicians who hold tribal office.
Elitists indeed as the poster boy for elitism prepares to enter office.
Elitist has become a meme, a word easy to toss about without really examining the facts, as such it’s value is finite depending solely on application and the realities.
