I get ahead of myself sometimes when it comes to the blog.In thinking about current events I may write several blogs at a sitting and then post as I go along – what follows is one from a week or two or back. Another will follow it related to Clinton.
People who don’t know me generally assume as an indigenous person I’m for every liberal policy or candidate that comes down the pike, when I say nothing could be further from the truth an assumption is then made as odd as it must seem before a discussion takes place that I favor conservatives, that may be even further from the truth.
I’m for balance and equity, both of which are in short supply.
Such a discussion took place a couple of days ago, though a brief one, when I had gone to pick up some lumber – some people working the Trump campaign who were passing out flyers and buttons etc. approached all brimming with smiles and enthusiasm.
When it comes to politics, religion, and just about anything else everyone has an opinion and their right, but opinions don’t alter facts.
In a brief exchange I was asked would I be voting for Trump?
When I said no there was a momentary silence followed by ” are you a registered Democrat and voting for Hillary? As though it was a forgone conclusion Hillary was the only alternative.
I responded that no I wasn’t and wouldn’t attend one of her rallies but if I did I surely wouldn’t sign one of those pledges she distributes pledging to vote for her.
What’s that all about anyway – you sign some bogus pledge and don’t follow through you’re going to wind up on one of the infamous Clinton enemies lists or get sued for breach of contract?
I favor Trump and Hillary about as much I do stepping on a nail or diarrhea and said so, which ended the conversation.
If this were the nineteenth century Trump would be another Chivington or Custer – possibly a Sherman engaging in a comparable scorched earth policy of his own.
For all the ignorance Trump has displayed I’m surprised he hasn’t gone the nits make lice route as it is all too obvious Trump’s mindset is such that he belongs to the Manifest Destiny crowd.
Trumps talking points are limited to exhibitions of his ego where he tells everyone how great he is, how loved he is, and how intelligent he is….. oh yeah, and he’s going to make the country “great” again also.
Trump’s about as capable as making the country great as AIM is of making the nations great.
Of course every carnival barker needs something more than the “hurry, hurry, hurry, step right up folks”, so Trump has embraced fear mongering and flag waving to such an extent it’s becoming difficult to not imagine he and Joe McCarthy weren’t conjoined twins separated at birth.
Trump considers himself among others things to be something of a modern day gunslinger, but a good one if that’s possible, a wannabe Marshall Matt Dillon, whose going to clean up the national and global Dodge City.
Problem is if you’re shooting from the hip and something less than an adept you amount to little more than a serious threat – and that in my opinion sums up The Donald, a dangerous individual who hasn’t a clue.
A loud mouth bigot like so many other bigots who in the midst of their bigotry feel compelled to tell you that they have friends among any demographic you can name who love and respect them dearly.
That can only be called what it is …….. bullshit.
I’m surprised there hasn’t been a campaign poster depicting Trump as Washington crossing the Delaware.
Trumps a “business man”, he knows how to run things and America needs to be run like a business?
Oh really, here’s a clue – America in being a corporatocracy is being run like a business and take a look at the results.
Conservative or Liberal you satisfied with the way things are? Are you satisfied with prevalent inequities?
You satisfied with the prostitution to corporate interests of both parties?
No you say, then what compels you to vote for whoever the party trots out?
“Trumps an outsider and the country needs an outsider” One of the best things that could happen to this country would be the election of outsiders, but outsiders who are from if not this planet then one from our solar system.
I’d like to see a “birther” movement related to Trump – is he really from here or some asteroid drifting in space?
Does he have “forged” documents or the real thing to substantiate any claims he might make?
Wouldn’t it be hoot if he were born in Kenya?
Is he one of those “reptilians” who not only walk among us but infiltrated the government?
And the hair? Who cares, even if it looks like something pilfered from a Goodwill donations box?
Qualifications run deeper than hair, rhetoric, fashion, fad, or bellicose vocalizations.
They have to do with wisdom, understanding, and accepting the reality that it is more than about “ME”.
Demographics among the electorate are defined by specific needs, beliefs and desires, that’s the reason candidates attempt to present a smorgasborg of delights, something for everyone in an attempt to win favor.
Trump has nothing to offer to Indigenous people or any other demographic with exception of the rabid gun totin’ flag waving crowd, my advice for them is if you think things are bad now be careful for what you wish for.
Should this buffoon actually get elected one can only hope Canada and Mexico will open their borders to American refugees seeking safe haven and a better way of life.
UPDATE: This is just too hilarious not to share.
