The Trump administration has less than a month in office and the shoes have already begun to drop – the latest being the resignation of “National Security Advisor” Michael Flynn for colluding with the Russians.
And yes that is the applicable word – colluding.
A federal crime under the Logan Act and brings into question what exactly is the definition of national security Republicans employ and will they be as dedicated and self righteously vociferous in pursuing justice to “lock him up” as they were to “lock her up”?
Of course they won’t, they need to get control over this and direct attention elsewhere as it raises a host of questions.
Trump needs to go on a twitter rampage and Spicer needs to declare it all fake news as Conway continues the laughable verbiage she has become so noted for.
One question being is the nation to believe Flynn was a lone wolf, he took it upon himself to assure the Russians they had no need to worry about the sanctions imposed by the previous administration?
That Trump and his minions had no idea, were completely unaware?
For all the discussion about voting, who should and who shouldn’t, I submit that anyone who believes that shouldn’t be allowed to vote, they haven’t attained the equivalent legal mental majority regardless of their age.
Republicans make what they refer to as patriotism a centerpiece of everything they do and say – it’s mom, apple pie, and family values – their definition of these alleged values are going to be sorely tested in not only the parties response but that of the rank and file electorate.
I suspect Hillary Clinton deleted the 30,000 plus emails because they were incriminating, but that is and remains speculation until proven to be fact with verifiable evidence – which to date there is none sufficient to warrant prosecution as stated by the agency that ran the investigation.
The lack of evidence hasn’t mattered and the meme became “lock her up”.
That isn’t the case with Flynn though and so far the missing call to “lock him up” speaks volumes.
Do I believe the USAG, DOJ, or the feds are going to actually pursue a criminal case?
Maybe, but I won’t be holding my breath because the bread crumbs could lead directly back to Trump and threaten the very underpinnings of the not so Grand Old Party, which could in turn lead to a pre emptive pardon or another one of those ill conceived attempts at an executive order in the name of patriotism and moving forward….. remember Ford’s pardon of Nixon?
If Trump did have knowledge and or gave approval will Flynn come clean or do an Oliver North and take one for the team, mom, and apple pie?
The great deal maker secures jobs that would be exported by bribing companies with tax breaks, threats, and gutting regulations, that’s tax breaks that will lead to an additional tax burden on the middle class and a direct impact on health and the environment due to removing regulations.
Apparently in wanting to “improve” Soviet American relations bribery is also the approach.
Is that patriotism, a complete disregard for the Constitution, the law, or an unfettered corporate greed?
One of the mea culpas thus far has been to give the poor misunderstood Trump and his appointees a break, to wait and see inspite of the handwriting on the wall that’s been so clearly evident from the get go.
To paraphrase a Verizon slogan – can they hear us now?
