I’ve never been one to get wrapped up in titles, you have a title or have given yourself one is kind of a whatever to me as it’s about the person and not the title.
There are individuals with “titles” I respect, others I don’t – those I respect aren’t given to adorn their every word with the qualifier or reminder that they are “titled”.
I’m pretty sure there are those who would be offended by my perceived lack of being impressed, maybe even angry – but if so maybe a little introspection could clear things up, because if they believe it’s all about them, or the weight of their words is directly related to a title they’d be wrong.
A good deed is a good deed, it may on some level be motivated by questionable agendas or it may be genuine – but to crow about it seeking attention is a detraction.
A valid point is a valid point and will stand on it’s own, no need to attempt to qualify on the basis of a real or imaged title.
In a way that leads me into discussing AIM’s “good deeds” – there may have been a measure of benefit at times but it’s the backstory, the personal motivations of the leadership that taint whatever value that may have existed.
The AIM leadership never did anything if they didn’t believe they would profit in some manner.
Financial profit, profit from attention, or the currency of covering their collective asses.
They spawned a generation of like minded mini me’s and wannabes reading from the same script, running the identical games, and never missing an opportunity to upload a self promoting video.
They’re about as “real” as their idols – they may think they’re a new and an improved “seventh generation” or “liberators and warriors”, may even believe they lead by reputation and do their best to convince everyone they are and do, but the truth is they’re cut from the same cloth employing the same pattern and stitches – and if that’s what the seventh generation, liberators and warriors are about it’s time to build a new outhouse because the original is falling apart, filled to capacity, and spilling over.
Maybe a tuck here or a letting out there but neither the fabric nor the pattern has changed, it’s a costume to facilitate playing an assumed role.
A Peltier feather in the hair, maybe a little face paint, or we loved our sister Annie but our focus is elsewhere and we really all need to move on for the common good are perceived to be necessary accoutrements, sort of a proof of being “real”, a provenance if you will.
Kind of flies in the face though when they bend over in fawning admiration and homage to the criminals and murderers of AIM.
But they’ve been and are being groomed, if they aren’t sitting around licking and grooming themselves like a cat they’re getting a pat on their head from the “elders” of AIM.
They need to stop bending over and grabbing their ankles (they’ve adequately demonstrated they can do that) and stand upright in a good way – do some good and forget about the boasting and self promotion ……… that is unless they believe it really it is about them and titles.
Myself? I don’t have a title, don’t want one – I’m just a raggedy ass, and if I were to have one I wouldn’t attempt to adorn everything I might do or say with it.
Does that make me better? Not saying that, merely saying I’m a human being, one of the people, and that’s the only “title” I’m interested in.
