Having mentioned the Panama Papers in a recent blog it kind of jogged my memory about Panama and former strongman Manuel Noriega.
At one point Noriega was yet another of the U.S. propped up favored boys, but like most of them he fell from grace leading to a U.S. military intervention to arrest and depose him.
I started scouting around a little and discovered that during the effort to dethrone and arrest Noriega he was holed up in the presidential palace.
A part of the tactics to facilitate his surrender was to set up a battery of speakers pointed in the direction of the palace, crank up the volume, and play rock music – a form of psychological warfare – it worked.
Sound or the absence of it has a history of being employed in such a way, but sound has also been used as a masking device in the form of static noise.
Something Hillary and her campaign minions were not only aware of but also employed at a recent “fundraiser” where Hillary gave yet another of her infamous secretive paid for speeches.
Apparently her Clinton bag of tricks is bottomless and her supporters find it not only acceptable but an appropriate device for an establishment politician.
The corporate media that has signed on to her destroy Sanders strategy doesn’t seem to mind much either making scant mention of it – the same media that routinely makes an issue of a free press and it’s duty to be open handed in reporting the news.
Stay tuned for the inevitable denials and talk of conspiracies that will no doubt be forthcoming after they regroup and cobble together a press release.
I’ve held the opinion for some time that when you get down to it there really isn’t much of difference between the two major parties.
There is rhetorically but they play the same games, pursue the same money, give the same advantage to one percenters, cozy up to the same lobbyists, refuse to pass meaningful campaign reform, and attempt to manipulate elections through national committees like the DNC and RNC.
They have the equivalent big money backers whether it be the Kochs or Soros, the same hit teams in blatantly biased liberal or conservative media sites and talking heads, and it all boils down to one thing – manipulation.
With the issue of fundraising, super pacs, paid speaking engagements, and influence it seems that a call to release the text of such speeches should garner universal support if campaigns are to be open and transparent – that of course hasn’t been the way of it and neither the liberal media nor Clinton supporters have expressed much of an interest or mentioned it for that matter.
To the contrary they have released the flying monkey squad as did another fictional character in the movie The Wizard of Oz ……… life imitating art?
Apparently they find it acceptable, part and parcel of establishment politics – likewise they also find it acceptable to employ static noise as a cloaking device.
Which leads one to wonder if this is the “change” and “ progressive” policies they like to talk about?
Subterfuge isn’t progressive, it is regressive, and will serve no other purpose than to further corrupt politics and government.
Static noise, where were the fire hoses and truncheons?
Everyone knows you can’t attend a movie, play, sporting event, or concert without paying the price of admission – the reason for this is they are a commercial venture.
The same can be said of either Bill or Hillary Clinton’s paid commercial ventures known as speaking engagements.
A product is being sold, their and the “foundations” influence – in that context the picture comes into focus – attempts to photoshop the appearance to be something else are not only amateurish but too obvious as well.
