Trump, or as some are referring to him – Orange Julius – is throwing his usual feces against the wall hoping something will stick in an effort to divert attention away his administrations cozy association with Vladimir Putin and Russia.
The latest tweets indicate Trump has either completely lost his grip on reality or consumed by desperation to the point of tweeting what is perhaps his most asinine statements thus far in accusing the former administration and Obama specifically as having Trump Tower wiretapped.
His unimpeachable source for such a claim? The alt right unhinged media outlet known as Breitbart.
Convenient isn’t it that the former head of Brietbart, Steve Bannon, is part of Trump’s inner circle and so close as to be conjoined.
With the known bromance between Trump and Putin many people are suggesting it may actually be something of a menage a trios when factoring in Bannon.
Brietbart has a well deserved reputation as the epicenter for fake news, their brand of “journalism” being the equivalent of the rag magazines you see in checkout lines featuring stories that a woman had Big Foot’s baby or Hitler and Elvis are both alive and well.
Any evidence that Trump’s or Brietbart’s claim contains a scintilla of fact?
Of course not, nonetheless they are confident none is needed for their equally delusional base.
If anybody or any entity would be interested in wiretapping Trump it very well could be Putin and Russia considering their investment.
What could become interesting is if Trump “pivots” as a public display and ramps up his rhetoric towards Russia or doesn’t follow through with dropping the sanctions imposed by the previous administration Putin may feel obliged to do a little leaking related to Trump.
On the other hand such rhetoric could be agreed upon much the same as one of those ppv “wrestling matches” where it’s all worked out beforehand and the opponents are actually friends.
What’s even more egregious is the chairman of the House Intelligence Committee expressing outrage in saying:
“The big problem I see here is that you have an American citizen who had his phone calls recorded.”
Really? Nunes has a problem with a government agency recording phone calls? Is that to say he doesn’t believe the NSA or other intelligence agencies are in fact governmental agencies and routinely do exactly that?
Is that to say he regrets voting to empower and fund such agencies which he has done every time the issue has arisen?
If there were a weekly dunce cap award Trump and Nunes would be this weeks co recipients.
