I find it a little interesting that Russell Means was designated a “special correspondent” in 1990 for the Jesse Jackson show – what is it that interests me?
A couple of things mostly, to begin with Means was obsessive about gathering titles or starting a project or organization that never went anywhere but afforded something to add to his resume or milk donations for.
Like Yellow Thunder Camp where he supposedly “lived” for eight years so firm was his dedication – truth is he didn’t though he would drop by on occasion – when the donations angle had ran it’s course Means announced he was tired of babysitting and moved on to the next hustle.
I think at this point everyone has pretty much become aware of Russell’s ppv performances, so the special correspondent title for me is about as meaningless as other titles, like the one he bestowed on himself of “chief facilitator”.
When you look at the history of WK2 and statements of people like Adrienne Fritze of Uncover Our Hearts, corroborated by others who were there it’s obvious the AIM version is a flat out lie.
Perry Ray Robinson Jr., a civil rights worker known to Martin Luther King Jr. and the leadership of which Jesse Jackson was one, was murdered along with others during that event, I’ve yet to hear of a single instance of Jackson speaking in behalf of the effort for justice and the repatriation of Ray’s remains.
Means was part of the leadership that held WK2 in it’s grip, and by his own words said nothing AIM related could take place on Pine Ridge without his express knowledge and consent – to say that he and they had no idea who Ray was or any knowledge of his murder as they all have stretches credibility to the point where a three year old child wouldn’t believe it.
But credibility has never been Russell’s or the AIM leaderships strong point, they relied entirely on threats, murder, and the ignorance of a hive mentality.
So this association as a special correspondent in my opinion is about as bizarre as a Grand Dragon of the KKK being brought onboard Jackson’s show.
Another laugher is Means being a “senior law partner” in a firm he “established”, as though Means was a licensed attorney recognized by the ABA – as Bugs used to say “what a maroon”.
We are surprised RussellMeans was not the astronaut to.
He either hadn’t gotten around to that yet, was too “modest” to mention it,
or was cobbling together a donations scam to pay for his ride.
