Russell Means stated on at least one occasion that AIM was about theater – maybe one of the rare truths Mean was capable of espousing.
Fellow wannabe thespian Dennis Bank$ carries on the tradition from everything to posing on an Indian motorcycle to assuming the role of a “spiritual leader”.
Bank$ particular brand of theology has expanded to embrace new agers, and judging by his attendance record at various oppressive organizations like the CPUSA and the totalitarian “liberation theology” they espouse such groups as well.
No doubt thinking he was playing them in the midst of being played while shamelessly chasing “donations”.
Maybe Bank$ is just something of a renaissance man – you know one of those individuals well versed in all things past and present, or maybe, and more likely, he’s just a run of the mill huckster.
Something of a cult leader or wannabe Rasputin claiming special insights and powers who can make people disappear as Means said.
If you ever ask a “psychic” why they don’t know the winning lottery numbers, win at the racetrack, or unable to avoid adversity in their own lives they’ll respond by saying they can’t use their “gift” for personal gain, that’s about as good a cover story as they can come up with I guess.
A cover story whether good or not is an essential element of hucksterism and Bank$ has a bunch of them – he can slide from one to other without batting eye, even look wounded when his veracity is questioned.
He didn’t even know Perry Ray Robinson jr, was a round at WK2 until he heard about it later. One could say later was actually current when following Ray’s murder by AIM Bank$ was recorded on a wiretap instructing Chris Westerman to dispose of the body.
But any who doubt Bank$ “psychic” abilities need look no farther than his announcement to fellow shaimsters that a newly discovered body was that of Annie Mae Pictou Aquash days prior to any identification of her remains.
Annie’s body was discovered by a rancher at the bottom of an arroyo – she was curled into a fetal position that indicates after being shot in the head by John Graham and tumbling over the side into the arroyo she was still alive.
How long she suffered and whether or not she was conscious is unknown, but what I’m really tired of is people, especially women who discuss women’s issues side stepping the murder of Annie to kiss AIM’s and Bank$ ass.
These same women no doubt rail on about the misogyny of an idiot like Trump but have nothing to say when it comes to an historically misogynistic entity like AIM in the well established and finest pie patrol fashion.
Was Bank$ an active physical participant in the abduction murder of Annie? No – either by design or coincidence he had the alibi of being in California.
Was he involved in and aware of the decision to murder her? I’m convinced he was and I’ve yet to see a single Bank$ performance that would convince me otherwise.
Now I may have ruffled a few feathers in mentioning women, but women are people and just as accountable as their male counterparts, so if I have inspite of my and this blogs history of advocacy for women I won’t be losing any sleep over it.
Issues like water rights, resources, and poverty aren’t or shouldn’t be construed as personal vehicles to advance an entities or individuals brand, but that has never dissuaded Bank$ or AIM.
In a conversation with a friend they brought up the death of Trayvon Martin, as the conversation evolved I recalled how Bank$ made an effort to thrust himself into the media conversation by donning a hoodie and circulating the photo and yet when it came to the AIM murder of Perry Ray Robinson jr the best Bank$ has had to say is gee, I didn’t even know Ray was at WK2.
Trump may well have said he could shoot someone and it wouldn’t make any difference among his supporters in what amounts to a runaway display of ego but if it’s about “bragging rights” when it comes to the ability of being complicit to murder Bank$ has trumped the Donald.
You are complicit when taped via a wiretap instructing another to get rid of a body, you are complicit when you’re able to identify a woman’s body without having seen it prior to an autopsy and an official identification.
So posing on an Indian or casting yourself as a “spiritual leader” doesn’t impress me nor should it anyone else.
It wouldn’t surprise me if Bank$ began selling vials of sacred water from the Missouri river, the proposed Dakota Access Pipeline and the controversy it has generated is too big an issue to let slip by and will attract hucksters like flies to honey.
If the lives of Annie, Ray, and AIM’s multiple victims at WK2 were seen as having so little value then how “sacred” could water and other resources be to Bank$ and AIM?
Roll on Dennis, there’s still a buck or two to make but you’re better suited to Pee Wee’s bicycle than an Indian.
