Been having a discussion with a sister about informants and provocateurs within AIM related to the below linked articles, and that always leads to speculation about who were they?
For my money Dave Hill is one among however many – Doug Durham was a known informant and real piece of work but does he fit the bill when it comes to acting as provocateur?
I think that’s open to discuss for a couple of reasons – one being in his “reports” he seems to have always attempted to keep things from escalating out of hand, if he were inciting as part of his job it doesn’t seem like he wouldn’t be taking credit for a job well done – so maybe, maybe not.
Hill is a no brainer, from the Custer Court House where he started the fight, to Mt. Rushmore, and PR when Annie was interrogated and murdered his physical presence is well established and yet he always walked away or remained in the background.
DeLuca/Blackhorse fills the bill as well with the dropping out of sight, but consider this, it has become something of the accepted story to say the feds commonly inserted informants in couples, a man and a woman – the A and B side.
I can’t say if that’s true or not but inclined to doubt it at least in this case and believe it is something AIM has promoted in an attempt to mitigate the murder of Annie – to find or create sympathizers who would say well she was a snitch so no big deal – she was either the A or B side.
A group who buying into it and wanting to protect AIM at all costs would choose to remain silent, be supportive, and act as a buffer.
Something I’ve always wondered about is in Durham the feds had a direct pipeline to Bank$ and would have known where he was and what he was up to at all times, so how was Bank$ able to operate in the manner he did?
Means has been exposed as a snitch and I believe the reason for snitching is to gain something, a personal advantage, or immunity – so where does Means fit into all of this?
Was it singularly about protecting the role of family members in the murder of Annie and protecting himself since he was fond of saying nothing AIM related could take place on PR without his knowledge and consent?
And if that is true then he must have authorized Annie being abducted and taken to PR where she was raped, interrogated, and murdered – and that makes him a major player in multiple related crimes.
An additional question is what and who did Means give up and over what period of time?
Russell’s aunt Theda Nelson Clark’s name routinely comes up when discussing informants, her lack of being indicted while in a nursing home suffering from dementia, and I believe Theda could very well have informed at some or point or another.
But I have a possible alternative theory about why and may require assuming dementia was a cover story, sort of a way to “disappear”, though I’m inclined to believe she actually was in a nursing home for health reasons.
Russell Means has been definitively proven to be an informant in building the case against John Graham and who knows what else, so is it possible that as an informant with a need to save his brother Bill whose house is where the call was taken to murder Annie, and save Theda as well he employed his snitch status to get some slack cut for them?
Think about that – here we have two principal players – Bill and Theda and neither are ever indicted, not to mention Russell.
Hill is the standout provocateur in my opinion – possibly A or B if such “assets” always operated in pairs, and that leaves the question who was the other or others, and in Hill’s or any other case was a woman involved?
Beyond credibility that it could have been Annie as he led her away to be interrogated and then murdered.
Could the A and B side have been Hill and Durham, Hill and DeLuca/Blackhorse, Hill and Theda, or Hill and someone in the leadership?
Or did Hill operate on his own?
