SIMPLE QUESTIONS AND DO THE MATH

“On December, 1975 ( which was to say, one week after Aquash was murdered)____advised that
an unidentified Indian female was_________Colorado. The three Indian members of AIM( all of
Denver, Colorado identified as ____(phonetic) and alledgedly_________…Source claims rumors
are that __who stays at ______the ____,Colorado and ___Colorado, committed the actual murder.
Others who may have knowledge of the murder are ____Colorado and ______, South Dakota.” FBI files
( comment: If there was no FBI complicity why wasn’t this addressed at this time? )

Viable questions arise from this , one I asked a couple of attorneys about, both said rumors of a murder are just that, rumors until a body is discovered, without any evidence, without  something physical to substantiate them. A possible exception being multiple witnesses.

And if you recall Annie’s body wasn’t discovered until  weeks later and then pre emptively identified by Dennis Bank$ from a few states away without ever having seen the body and before it was identified by anyone else.

While this raises questions as a rumor the questions for me are who was the “source” and once Annie’s remains were discovered why did it take years to bring charges and secure a conviction?

Consider that in the context of who knew of the plan and who were involved in the decision making end and carrying it out?

Did the direct participants, Theda Clark, John Graham, or Arlo Looking Cloud provide the information? Was it a snitch within the AIM leadership itself?

How about those who interrogated Annie at WKLODC office, among whom was a sister of Russell Means and attorney Bruce Ellison?

Theda Clark was also a relative of Means, since it’s been established Means didn’t mind “assisting” law enforcement does an implication exist in light of his blood relatives involvement including brother Bill where the call was taken to murder Annie Means decided he should pre emptively “assist” to gain a pass?

At the point this memo was crafted the identity of the victim apparently wasn’t even known, “an unidentified Indian female”. Apparently neither were the motive, the shooter, or the location where the body could be found.

So basically all that you have is a “rumor” that an “unidentified” woman was killed. Not much to go on is it?

Once Annie’s body was discovered it became or should have become an entirely different matter, something more than years of an “ongoing investigation” that culminated in a partial justice exclusive of those within the leadership who gave the order.

SB and his handlers love to drone on about the perps are never really to blame, it’s the ones who give the orders. If they truly believe that you’d think they be all for going after the ones who gave the order, and that would be the  leadership ….. which of course they aren’t.

Now in the context of agent Price telling Annie she’d be dead within a year there a number of interpretations that can be made. The one that works for AIM is that Price as an emissary of the feds was putting Annie on notice they would kill her – it’s convenient to the narrative they want to gain traction.

But let’s look at other possibilities – it could be the feds were aware of rumors being advanced by Crow Dog, Peltier, and others that Annie was a snitch and that could lead to her demise.

If that were the way of it it  brings to mind a similar event I’ve mentioned involving a friend of mine who had a serious problem with alcohol.

I visited him in the hospital and told him if he didn’t straighten his act up the next time I saw him would be in the morgue.

Was I threatening his life? Not at all. If he wound up dead should I have been a suspect?

Kind of hard to imagine I would have been, that is unless AIM had a vested interest in promoting me as one.

It could also be they intended to frighten Annie. Scaring a person is something AIM has been big on, and if you take into account the alibi related to Annie’s interrogation immediately prior to her murder that they only wanted to scare her it becomes sort of a commonplace tactic, though AIM’s intention has been proven to be about more than instilling a little fear.

Then too maybe the feds did want to kill Annie, but the feds had nothing to gain by killing her, especially if they held out any hope of cultivating her as an informant ( which they never did).

If anyone believes they did then they should enumerate the reasons why in a way that makes sense devoid of the myths and fairytales.

AIM on the other hand labored under the belief they had a great deal to gain by murdering her and raises the obvious question who are the viable suspects?

I haven’t any desire to relieve the feds from any responsibility that falls to them, nor do I have any desire to exonerate AIM through misdirection and issuing get out jail passes.

So ask yourself the simple questions, do the math. Flashcards won’t even be needed.

Forget for the moment that Claypoole said Price admitted it in court and then later said well, he actually didn’t admit it but it “felt” like he did – forget that SB immediately contradicted her in saying Price made no such admission and the result was you had a classic example of conflicting AIM centric variations on a theme. Not exactly confidence inspiring is it?

Take a commonsense approach and just do the math, ask yourself who had what to gain? In doing so you’ll discover a little commonsense goes a long way and you’ll be  taking the initial steps to being your own person.

TRUTH AS ” HATE SPEECH”

This is a fairly recognizable poster, it’s been around the internet for some time – the answer to the posed question of who will be indicted next is NO ONE.

The fix is in, it’s been in. That’s been made abundantly clear and the question that should accompany these photos is not who will be indicted next but who is the next snitch that will be exposed?

By employing AIM’s definition it is well established that both Russell Means and Dave Hill were.

A breakdown in the official wall of silence occurred when South Dakota AG Marty Jackley announced that Means had not only “assisted” him in developing a case against John Graham and Thelma Rios pertaining to the abduction murder of Annie Mae Pictou Aquash but also assisted other law enforcement agencies as well.

AIM’s word for that has always been “snitch” leaving them in the midst a conundrum of sorts, If they attempt to defend Means or deny his snitch status then they are obliged to do the same for those who have spoken against them, testified in any AIM related case, or provided information.

Left with a bare minimum of options, and none of the good from their viewpoint, they have elected to opt for the lesser of the perceived evils and remain silent.

No one, NO ONE, that I am aware of anywhere on the net or this blog has attempted such a defense. Ask yourself why?

AIM of course would rather exist on a diet of buffalo chips ( which is probably a dietary staple for them anyway) than address anything related to such troubling and high risk topics.

Curious isn’t it that an organization that has employed “paranoia”, moles, snitches, and provocateurs as the mea culpa of choice hasn’t anything to say about the venerable “statesmen” Means snitch status?

But then the perception may well be if they did people might then say maybe others were as well and begin following the bread crumbs.

Curious isn’t it as well that no mention is made on AIM satellite sites like LRI or the RoL as they go on about all the inequities and a sincere desire to address them?

With the talk of constructing a “library” to “honor” Means maybe some consideration should be given to making it an adjunct to the Hoover building or that monolith in Utah the NSA calls home.

Dave Hill was outed decades ago after bombing Mt. Rushmore and being allowed to walk away without a single indictment hanging over his head.

In addition to that immediately following his get out of jail free pass he was arrested on state charges of possessing a handgun the serial number had been filed off and then SD career politician, and drunken vehicular life taker Bill Janklow stepped in and the charges were dropped in the “public interest”. What definition of in the public interest was employed to dust Hill off, give him a cookie, and send him on his way?

John Trudell has gone on for years about an “agent provocateur” within the AIM ranks insisting the path to discovery begins at the Custer Court House – but like those fan dancers of Burlesque fame reveals only enough to leave his audience wanting more – the question that should be directed to Trudell since a contingent of the usual media attention seeking AIM leadership were there and Hill was the one to throw the first punch that began the fracus is he implying Hill is the provocateur? Seems logical to me that if you want to provoke a confrontation you would throw a punch.

Maybe Trudell would have us look not at Hill, a Dennis Banks invitee to join AIM and become a member of his personal cadre of security bumbling dolts and Keystone Cops, but at Means or one of the other “liberators”. Either way though the field of candidates is finite.

Something else that should be looked into is whether or not Hill had a previous history of criminal charges being dropped prior to joining AIM? If so the plot would thicken as they say.

Now I don’t know much about child support cases other than people can go to jail for non payment – Hill didn’t, and it would be interesting to see who intervened in his behalf or if he did in fact make good on any payments in arrears and kept them current following that.

Of the remaining individuals in the above rogues gallery it’s my opinion shared by others that at least the AIM leadership as a whole probably rolled over at one point or another if we look at  their ability to either walk from charges, never be charged, or being able to “plea bargain” their sentence down to a minimum as a convicted “major drug dealer”.

Dennis Banks is an interesting case in point. The man his bromance partner Russell Means said had  the ability to make people disappear – Annie Mae and Perry Ray Robinson Jr. are prime examples.

Banks having been tape recorded instructing Chris Westerman to dispose of Ray’s body makes him at the very least an accessory after the fact to murder.

This taped recording should have at a minimum led to an effort by law enforcement to conduct a search and recovery effort for Ray’s remains…..but didn’t, and everyone should be asking why?

In addition Banks ability to immediately identify Annie’s body upon discovery from a considerable distance, as in more than a thousand miles away, before anyone else could should raise a few eyebrows and questions, yet no charges have ever been brought against him related to either incident.

Consider the fact also that Westerman apparently enjoyed a measure of trickle down immunity from Banks as it would have been impossible to go after him and leave Banks unscathed. Sounds more than a little suspicious doesn’t it?

The way of it seems to be if you’re going to commit crimes you should also be an informant to insure a free hand, or at the most a slap on the wrist.

Dennis Banks, the “warrior” who fled the scene of the Oregon RV stop as did another “warrior” by the name of Leonard Peltier, both of who obviously felt it wasn’t “a good to die” but one to abandon women, one pregnant who gave birth during her detention.

Dennis Banks who undoubtedly stayed in contact with his “security” lap dog Leonard Peltier keeping him apprised of all events as Peltier by his own words wandered back and forth across the U.S./Canadian border.

In Banks having done so Peltier would have known about the “tribunal” that issued the fatwah for Annie.

I personally believe that if Peltier didn’t have a vote in the “tribunal”, which I suspect he did, he nonetheless knew, encouraged, and appreciated the decision that was made.

It’s also more than a little suspicious that the DOJ operating under the tenure of USAG Eric Holder has announced that yes, AIM did kill Annie and Ray, but they aren’t interested in pursuing such old cases.

This is about as close as the public will ever come to the particulars unless a whistleblower emerges.

The official position is the feds don’t give up an informant while they’re alive – Means no longer is and although it wasn’t the feds who gave him up he nonetheless was outed by law enforcement – Banks, Hill, and Clyde remain among the living so we shouldn’t expect much in the way of official announcements, nor do I think we can in their passing as it could open an entirely different can of worms that might very well  involve not only governmental agencies but also politicians in key positions related to the nations.

What has been established is that Means was an informant at least when it came to the case Jackley was building, what I’d like to know is what else did Means snitch about, for how long, and to whom?

I also would like to challenge anyone to describe Means snitch status to be something other than AIM’s definition of a snitch or as being in the spirit of Crazy Horse.

Murder is allegedly a crime without a statute of limitations, yet new statutes seem to have been written when it comes to the cigar store internet construct ndns of the AIM leadership and by extension select minions. Gun violence and Lives Matter? Really? Could have fooled me.

I’d like to think that somewhere in the government there is at least one lone individual who would prioritize truth and justice by stepping up and revealing the truth, all of it, but that’s probably as much a fantasy as believing AIM is a “spiritual organization” composed of liberators and patriots who operate in the spirit of Crazy Horse.

A feature of the leaderships survival mode is to stay lawyered up applying generous amounts of super glue to themselves and attorneys like Bruce “I’m taking the Fifth” Ellison and Charles Abourzek who inserted himself into Arlo Looking Cloud’s pre trial preparations in an effort to discover what testimony Arlo would give and how wide the loop might be employing a process of something referred to as “psycho drama”.

Strange isn’t it that inspite of Arlo’s statements that Abourezk was present at Bill Means house when the call came to murder Annie Arlo’s attorney would have allowed Abourezk any form of contact with Arlo?

Abourezk has portrayed his contact with Arlo as being ex parte, a sort of friend of the court whose sole purpose was to facilitate Arlo’s defense, apparently with the belief that no one would notice the law firm owned by both and he his father not only represented various AIM members but had a long history of doing so – a clear conflict of interest.

The very law firm where Russell Means spent his day release under the guise of water rights expert during his one year sentence for his Custer conviction. Really? Russell was better versed in the legal ins and out of such rights, had a greater access to case law, his knowledge and understanding were so encyclopedic his assistance was essential?

And what about those water rights and the combined effort of the Abourezk and Means collaboration? Anyone want to tell me what benefit to the nations was secured?

I’ll conclude this post with an additional question – why was it necessary to abduct Annie from California and return her to Pine Ridge if it was simply about an interrogation? That would be PR where Means said nothing AIM related could take place without his knowledge and consent.

PR, where the participation of various Means family members and AIM friendly attorney Bruce Ellison in Annie’s interrogation took place at the WKLDC office.

PR, where the call came to murder her was taken at Russell’s brother Bill’s house and where she was buried in a hurried faux traditional ceremony by a bunch of pretenders who neither knew anything about tradition, cared about, or respected them.

In consideration of location, those involved, motive, and Mean’s proclaimed warlord status anyone doubting Means was unaware until 1999 as he claimed is either a fool, owned outright by AIM, or both.

I’d be interested in knowing if Jackley and Means ever discussed the AIM murder of Perry Ray Robinson jr. at WK2, or the multiple unmarked graves, if so what did Means have to say about that? Who did Means point the finger at to divert attention away from himself and family members?

AIM has attempted for decades to portray any who speak the truth against them as “haters” – I submit the opposite is true, they hate the truth.

A SIMPLE TOOL AND A FLAME REDUX

I’ve been rolling a little stone around in my hand, a gift that was given to me and represents a lesson taken to heart. It is was given to me by an aged woman of the nations I have known
since childhood.

She is a as kind and gentle a person as you would ever meet, but has a great strength about her as well and a real sense of humor-she isn’t sure  of her exact age and it is of little importance to her as she has lived a life based not on calendars but on events and experience.

The present state of decline and acculturation dismays her no end, but despair is not a part of her character-and hope is a wellspring that flows eternal from her.

We’ve spoken on occasion about AIM, and the “liberators”-she holds them and the organization in low esteem, electing to say it, and they, are all lacking in substance, and in many ways like loud children without respect who only want to be seen, heard, and eat well-to have more than those around them.

Perception and a keen sense of right and wrong are attributes of hers-she has no romantic illusions or is fooled by any, as are the non indigenous, who buy into the we came, we saw, we liberated-when the reality is they came, they saw, fell all over each other for the media spotlight, and in turn employed it to launch careers and propel themselves into a higher income bracket.

Truths have begun to emerge, and I see now a greater awareness and acknowledgement of them beginning to take hold, an understanding that too many of the problems exist within the communities and the prevailing attitudes. We as individuals, as a people, need to learn, to remember if you will, that we do not need treaties, self labeled liberators, or the wealthy among us to determine our future-we need only ourselves, each other, and the will to do so.

All this while liberators sit in their personal comfort like Jaba the Hutt.  Loath to acknowledge or address topics raised, content to spin their version of reality and say look at me.

Like used car salesmen replete in the obligatory K-martesque attire, jingling change in their pocket and assuring one and the all the wreck they are attempting to sell is a real beauty-when the reality is you will need to bring a friend to help you tow it home.

It has been my great good fortune to know people such as this fine woman, and others who live tradition rather than talk it. They have, and continue to plant seeds that in turn will be planted elsewhere.

They have been instrumental in making me more than I probably would have been in their absence, and I will not forget that, or the gift of a little gray stone.

She has said it is important to learn the white ways, their words and knowledge-not to live them, but to know them, the better to equip the people-that what once was will never be exactly the same again and it is a matter of survival and preservation.

If not we will always stand in line waiting for a piece of bread and have others tell us what to do and how we will live. That there is a power in knowing these things if turned to our advantage-and a growing weakness if we do not and choose instead to accept the words of liberators as tradition and for our benefit.

I remember going for a walk with her once and she picked up this  small stone and gave it to me asking me what impressed me most about it-I told her that it had the feel of strength about it -and she said yes and because of that many good things could be made from stones-a tool, shelter, something to hunt with and provide food or protection, that when it came to the nations we should be like the stone with it’s many good qualities, and remember we were meant to endure, to always be a part of the land much the same as the stone is.

That men and women in their coming together should be like flint and stone that in contact become more, a compliment one to the other and capable of producing a spark that leads to a flame- a flame, an example,  to guide and insure the well being of the nations.

Simple words, but profound in the truth they speak-and I have yet to read or hear anything of comparable value emanate from liberators. I carry that little stone in my pocket at all times and sometimes find myself rolling it around in my hand like a marble and remembering we were meant to have strength and endure-to make good tools of ourselves for our loved ones and the people.

A concept the ” liberators” have never understood-but one I believe  Annie Mae did.

OF MICE AND MEN REDUX

I like to think when a person gives their word, swears a oath, they understand and accept the implications, the responsibility to adhere to it.
I’m not naive enough though to not realize that isn’t always the case – just saying it would be nice if everyone did…..the world would sure be a different place.
Sometimes it may be impossible to keep your word, or a bad move to give it the first place, sometimes who you gave it to could seen as a qualifier.

I kind of have this idea that young law school graduates think they’re going to change the world, right the wrongs, and fight the good fight against injustice.

Maybe that was the way of it for Bruce Ellison, maybe he thought of himself as a champion riding into battle on a white horse with the sword of justice in one hand and clad in the armor of truth.

But somewhere along the line he took a detour, chose the wrong path, and probably got in over his head – whatever promise his career may have held evaporated as he became a front man for AIM, and ultimately a participant and accomplice in the crimes they committed.

In for a penny in for a pound-to deep to get out, and perhaps fearful to cut the ties that bind. After all others had disappeared and that wasn’t a list he wanted  to be on.

A list that included Annie Mae Pictou Aquash- an AIM victim he was all to familiar with – and despite his representation of Peltier and the degree of security the AIM leadership could take in the client/ attorney confidentiality privilege the same couldn’t be said when it came to Annie.

Ellison crossed that line the moment he had knowledge of the plan to abduct Annie, return her to Pine Ridge, interrogate her, and possibly murder her.

His participation in her being held against her will and interrogated by himself and others sealed the deal.

He was no longer an attorney-he was an aider and abettor as well as a co- conspirator. He had become a common criminal, a thug, an abuser of women, and a underling of the AIM leadership.

The fifth amendment, denials, and yt videos can’t alter the reality.

In for a penny in for pound-and Ellison becomes an attorney for Peltier, a liaison for AIM, the eyes and ears to advise, coach, and to report back.

Peltier is deep in it-the murder of two federal agents-things don’t look good   Annie’s out of the picture and the fear she knew a little too much and could present a danger had been mollified by her murder.

But a lot of loose ends-minutia, minor details that might have been forgotten and come back to haunt.

Who knows, as much heat as was being generated somebody might roll over, and what exactly was going to be the official party position? Was everyone familiar with it and willing to abide?

Lot of questions for Peltier – trust might have wavered when he recalled the personalities, the egos, and the focus on self preservation the leadership was   noted for.

Vernon was raising hell and calling everyone a psychopath-would he consider his own skin and that of brother Clydes more important than that of a dimwitted murderer, or Means and Banks?

Maybe the finger would be pointed at him, Peltier – maybe he would be seen as a threat and Banks would make him disappear. A game of spin the bottle and the one it settles upon gets the kiss of death.

Maybe the thing was to escape, and maybe AIM in having their own doubts about him would assist.

But the name of the game for the leadership was to keep a safe distance, keep a low profile when suspicion was in the air-kind of like they did when Annie was being buried in a makeshift quasi-traditional ceremony at PR.

PR, where an eye could be kept on her remains, her restless spirit, and the false prophet of “Paradise” Leonard Crow Dog could do his act, work his wannabe mojo, and hopefully chain her there forever.

But there’s no honor among thieves, and the leadership were thieves to the core.

Thieves who stole tradition and substituted it with drugs, alcohol, rape, and murder.

Thieves who took the accrued suffering and misery of generations and turned it to personal profit.

Thieves who took the dreams and hopes of a people and turned them into ashes.

So whose to trust?

In for a penny in for pound-Ellison the fallen attorney, a disgrace to himself and his profession-weak kneed, insipid, eager to please, and obedient, just the man.

He had access, and certainly motive-he had that attorney client relationship, even a briefcase filled with self important papers, the obligatory pens, and some room left over for saw blades.

But as the poet Robert Burns wrote “the best laid plans of mice and men often go awry”, as did the great escape plan, and the rest is history.

A convicted murderer counts the days and the hours in prison while a fallen attorney goes to seed and takes the fifth-perhaps a form of justice in it’s own right.

A lot of wrongs to right, a lot of injustice to fight, just as on the day Bruce Ellison took his oath to uphold the law and be faithful to the letter of it – but it takes integrity to do these things – it takes a man.

In the spam bin one of multiples made reference to the raid on Crow Dogs as though such things exonerate past or future deeds.

There are accounts to be found of a raid on Crow Dogs place and the killing by federal agents of a horse by the name of Big Red.

A long held tenet of Americanism is that an individual has the right to defend their life, home, and property, liberals are making every attempt to dilute that.

It’s no longer politically correct to stand up or defend what is yours.

But liberal, conservative, or whatever, I don’t consider myself a part of the process. A process that has been corrupted by money and influence.

Unless “Big Red” was wielding an AK or an Uzi there is no justification for shooting him, and I’ve yet to hear of a horse doing that.

If the story the AIM crowd tells is true then whoever is responsible should be held to account. In this day and age people are routinely jailed for abusing an animal much less maliciously killing one.

Defending the story will involve “witnesses” who say they were there and saw the whole thing – and they could be telling the truth – but if the word of witnesses is to honored then it has to become an across the board approach, one that accepts the statements of others related to the various crimes AIM committed.

Of course we all know that a witness can and will lie, just like the AIM leadership and their counterparts on the other side of the aisle – and that’s where things can become a little murky.

A metric I employ is to ask who benefits from the lie, and in what manner? Using that as a starting point I then search both sides of the aisle for supportive statements and evidence, and I’m willing to be convinced either way.

Sometimes I compose a list of pros and cons and tally the results – that doesn’t insure that the truth has been revealed in it’s entirety but it will get a person closer to it than merely repeating a party line.

This act of repetition I believe is the way of it for many, they’re content just to repeat what they’ve been told or heard, and once having invested themselves in it they aren’t eager to backtrack and often enough expand on what’s been said.

That was kind of the way of it when I supported Peltier, but the contradictions, obvious lies, and unanswered questions became too overwhelming to ignore. And yeah, I initially felt like a fool for buying into the innocence story, but better for a fool to do an about face than remain one.

Having once been a believer I know how the game is played, the selling out that is required, the arrogant expectation of ignorance and gullibility on behalf of supporters.

It is a cult with a well defined belief system that requires total commitment to the “prophet”- the teachings don’t have to make sense and seldom do, as time passes the attributes assigned to the “prophet” increase – he, she, or they become a demigod, all seeing, all knowing, and of course a “threat” to the powers that be.
Such a professed threat is meant to unite the believers and the truth be damned. A dimming of the light to conceal the reality.

Neither Peltier or the AIM leadership are prophets, messiahs, liberators, or for that matter even victims, they haven’t a message of truth to deliver.

What they represent is greed and self aggrandizement, that and nothing more. WK2 was meant to be an affirmation, their version of the coming to collect the faithful – in retrospect one can only assume none of the leadership were found worthy.

I was advised in this particular spam that I am not even in Crow Dogs league – I take that as a compliment as I don’t sell ceremonies or keep an eye on the graves of murdered innocents.

The earth has been said to be the floor of heaven and there seems to be a great truth in this, if this is so then all the land is sacred and we cannot pick and choose which should be fought over to protect-all must be protected.

Understandable that specific areas to specific peoples have a greater personal significance, but the land is contiguous-fences cannot divide it, municipal boundaries, or the little picket fence-neither the great bodies of water beneath whose surface the land continues. It is illusion to think they do. This is a thing if understood and accepted would go a long way in creating a better life for all who inhabit the land.

The history of all mankind has always been to claim and fight over a portion here or a portion there for reasons to numerous to even begin to define.

Words have been invented to support such claims, words that led to “laws” and the legalization of theft- to deeds, treaties, to concepts such as eminent and public domain-all foreign, all conceptualizations, until this nation, foremost among all the other nations perhaps, has become a nation of words, stumbling over words, and constantly distorting or inventing new ones to further pave the way. Problems exist? Go figure.

The great Sauk leader Black Hawk once said, “How smooth must be the language of the whites, when they can make right look like wrong, and wrong like right.”

He would be ashamed I think to find that modern day liberators selling syrup and autobiographies employ much the same tactic-to learn that an indigenous woman, any woman among our own could become prey for abuse, sexual assault, or to be abducted, beaten, raped, and murdered, and the response would be silence, or the spinning of words to make wrong look like right and right look like wrong.

In all of this it has been forgotten that we stand on the floor of heaven, that wherever our feet touch the land it is sacred . On scared ground truth should be spoken.

SNITCHES, RATS, MOLES, AND WHISTLE BLOWERS REDUX

I just watched the latest video offered on the Annie fb page and would commend Paul DeMain for having said what should be understood by one and all-not verbatim as cited below but close enough to make the point.

“Silence is killing our children we need snitches who say there is a crack house here that is killing our children-my uncle is raping his niece.”

By the Liberators own definition and liberal application of the word snitch, one would have to say Russell Mean’s melodramatic, with perfectly timed breaking up of his voice finger pointing at Vernon during the Branscombe news conference serves to qualify him as one.

I don’t exactly view his participation as a public service, more one of an abortive attempt at damage control. The reality was that Branscombe was on the trail and the press conference would have taken place at some point with or without Mean’s and his homeboy Churchill, didn’t leave a lot of options.

The problem with the AIM leadership of that era is they actually believed their own lies and propaganda-it is a part of the pathology. They thought they were invincible, that the tide of misguided public opinion would insulate them, and the intimidation they had long practiced would suffice.

In essence the original Wall Street Corporations and Banks too big to fail-recipients of their own stimulus packages in the form of government grants, pay offs, and well meaning, if not coerced donations.

Now, as is the case with the present day thugs who have milked the stimulus cash cow and being seen for what they are, so too are the liberators. The question is who will be the poster boy ala Madoff? Will it be any of the top CEO’s, or will they attempt to toss a subordinate under the bus? Tricky situation and a dangerous game to play.

But then there’s the unsettling suspicion that is gaining momentum-that of is there, has there, been an ultimate insider all these many years?

That in the aftermath of the Jumping Bull event and the all out ramped up effort by the feds to pursue and capture the shooters was a deal struck in the liberator hierarchy to give up Peltier for personal immunity? Something LPDOC might consider taking a look at.

There are those who say a growing number of clues can be found that point in that direction-if it is true what a buffoon and tool Peltier has been, but he is so caught up in the myth that has been created for him that it would be a near impossibility for him to confront or even to consider such a thing.

I view this as an hypothesis that increasingly has the feel of merit- much of what has defied explanation begins to make sense when as pieces of the puzzle find their place a coherent picture begins to emerge. It is as I say a hypothesis, but one worth looking at, and perhaps time will tell.

This identical myth building is underway regarding John Graham-of course such things as chasing the wind and living a sundance life have already been taken by Peltier, in lieu of that this low level gopher, this hanger on, is cast in the roll of an activist and “land warrior”-in time with this crafted resume he will be referred to as founder and high ranking AIM leader just as the other low level subordinate Peltier has been. It is the established formula.

When Graham starts selling second rate art work and tomes of fiction we will know the makeover is in full swing.

Will people buy into it? Of course they will, too many love them some conspiracy, too many walk around in a self induced coma, too many are armchair activists who are capable of little more than than being a sponge that soaks up the party line.

There are people who champion Charles Manson, skinheads who do likewise of Hitler-should any be surprised that there are those who would champion Peltier, Graham, and the wannabe chiefs?

Surprised? I can’t see why-angered and disappointed yes-but we are adults and know these things exist-too many view themselves as, and want to be “rebels”, convincing themselves that allegiance to fairy tales and the ogres that populate them makes it so.

It’s been a while since I’ve browsed any of the many works of fiction regarding Annie Mae that have been breathlessly authored and advanced as the result of what we are told is a devotion to truth and the pursuit of justice, an unbiased and exhaustive devotional effort, that in effect does nothing more than to further muddy the water and assist those who have something to hide.

These “books” are almost singularly dependent on information selectively taken out of context by organizations such as LPDOC, Free John Graham, interviews with the accused (never with the accuser), their misguided supporters, and of the mighty “liberators” of oppressed people.

Facts are of secondary importance, and then only if they can be co opted, distorted , or spun. This is yellow journalism of the most obvious sort,-and a literary or journalistic effort that is both commercially and agenda driven.

In a very crude analogy it is the selling of bones, much as those of the buffalo were, or those of the Elephant Man-a public display of remains for profit, and maybe a little of that fifteen minutes based on the words of drive-by basketball players too cowardly to put in an appearance, and remnants of the pie patrol or those who wish they had of been and must content themselves to braid the hair of their heroes if not literally, then literarily.

In the wake of such transparent bias it doesn’t matter that one such as Thelma Rios confesses to her role in the abduction and murder of Annie Mae-I’ve seen numerous “explanations” why she did so-none of them willing to cede that she actually was involved or finally told the truth. No it has to be something else, anything else, for to admit the truth of what amounts to a deathbed statement from a dying woman is inconceivable and clearly illustrates that the works of fiction promoted as truth are exactly that-fiction, not even worthy of being viewed as indulging in creative or literary license.

It doesn’t matter that juries render a verdict, that literally dozens of witnesses testify-that more questions are asked, and silence, a refusal to respond is the rule of thumb. No, what this about is a conspiracy to destroy a morally and spiritually bankrupt organization that created absolute havoc in it’s wake and made untold millions in the process.

An organization and it’s leadership who believed that their “vision”, their sense of entitlement superceded all other considerations as they enriched themselves, divided up territory, and the spoils of the proclaimed war they initiated.

A war that included off shore accounts, firebombings of newspapers that dared to label them for what they were, drunken revelry at ceremonies, phoned in death threats, using and dealing drugs, the destruction of WK2, the incessant collection of donations that never were accounted for, the formation of untold charitable foundations and defense funds that have little to show for the money or time invested, rape and murder-all a blue print, a clone, of liberators who for centuries in every nation spanning the globe acted in the same manner, followed the same course.

These authors, journalists, and supporters have invested too much of themselves, too much of what is referred to as personal integrity too even consider, much less admit they have been in error. That they in point of fact either knowingly or unwittingly have perpetuated injustice while claiming to serve it and making a few bucks in the process.

To admit to having been used and made a fool of is a difficult thing-I know, having once been a knee jerk Peltier supporter-but in the end it is a human being that finds a greater value in moving on to the truth and accepting they were foolish.

It is a human being who looks openly at the overall picture and says the liberators say this and yet have done that, finds the discrepancies, and asks why rather than ignore them, make excuses, or contrive tales of conspiracy.

The feds had moles in AIM-what is that, an anomaly? Proof of a sinister conspiracy to break the nations? They’ve had them in the Mafia and nearly any organized crime syndicate you can think of-I don’t hear anyone complaining about that or labeling it a conspiracy. I don’t hear anyone complaining about it when fraud and embezzlement are exposed in charities or foundations, or in Wall Street, the Banking industry, or huge Corporations. I don’t see anyone complaining when street gangs that terrorize their communities are taken down. I hear no one complain when whistle blowers expose corruption or unsafe conditions in the workplace.

People see a drunk driver weaving on the highway and phone it in-a party in their neighborhood gets out of hand and they phone in it. They see a billboard alert of a missing child and thinking they may have seen the child or have some information and phone it in. They see some suspicious activity and phone in it -what are they, snitches, or someone concerned with the public welfare and possibly their own safety or that of loved one?

I’m not advocating for a big brother society, which this country is rapidly becoming, only common sense and asking oneself what they would do in a similar situation? To ask them self what is more important, to assist and protect a victim, the survivors, or to aid and abet the perpetrator(s) in a coverup and escaping accountability?

Abduction, rape, murder, theft, fraud, drug dealing are all crimes-if you don’t think so ask Banks who has decried the theft of his pots, demanded action, and offered a reward. That’s pots-not rape and murder, all should ask them self if the theft of pots is more heinous, more criminal, than crimes of violence?

One should wonder if in view of Bank’s uncanny ability to identify the remains of Annie Mae weeks before anyone else could if he might not be better suited to wrap a turban around his head, get a crystal ball, and set up a fortune telling stand at a flea market? Surely he’s missing his calling.

All should ask themselves if one can be this vocal, this adamant about a theft, why not at least equally so about those in unmarked graves at WK2 or the murder of Annie Mae? One should ask them self if a truth has ever been spoken by liberators-if it ever will be?

This excuse making and willingness to ignore is relied upon, it is part of the manipulation and a proven tool. It’s all about choice-that “free to be responsible” thing we hear so much about.

The us against them attitude is understandable, predictable, and certainly justified by centuries of injustice and oppression-what needs to be recognized and acted upon now though is who “them” are, rather than being led by tricksters and Judas goats.

In the end it is about an organization and a leadership that refused to police itself-to set a standard of integrity and practice an actual dedication to service on a people first basis. It is about greed and gluttony, malice, avarice, and mayhem, death and dying, and perhaps more than anything else name recognition and celebrity.

I find that I have arrived at a point where all I can say about this is F*** every damn lying one of them, and make no apology for doing so.

Kind of funny that in a conversation several months back I said I wouldn’t be surprised if Chase Iron Eyes being an attorney would interject himself  into John Graham’s case.

Sure enough that’s exactly what has happened – and again it doesn’t surprise me due to Last Real Indians hands off approach when it comes to anything that doesn’t pander to AIM.

CIE isn’t Clarence Darrow or F. Lee Bailey, that translates in my opinion to Graham will rightfully remain where he is, but it is also an opportunity to garner a little more attention and perhaps post more selfies.

I don’t know how a claim can be advanced that a persons focus is all about our youth and yet ignore the corrupting influence AIM has been, to ignore the murders of Annie Mae  Pictou Aquash, Perry Ray Robinson Jr, and several others.

I don’t believe that’s what “last real Indians” are about, if it is then I’ll be opting out and anyone can call me whatever they like – but at least I will have remained true to the blood of our ancestors that blankets this entire hemisphere.

I received the below in an email and wanted to share it also-the internet is rife with excuses for the issues addressed in this story-and that’s all they are-excuses. Warriors don’t wilt under pressure-they don’t run off and get drunk, do drugs, or abuse women and children- they fight what is wrong, protect, and provide. This title warrior was an earned one-now it has become a form of freeware for any to download and apply to themselves.

“Several years ago I had the opportunity to attend the Ontario Native Men’s Wellness Conference in Toronto. Each morning began with individual clan meetings to start the day.
My clan meeting was led by a Grandfather from the Wintu Tribe in California. One morning he shared this story. I loved it so much that I asked if I could keep it and share it, and he said yes. With gratitude I share it now, it is a story from the Wintu People.

The Wintu are also known as the Eagle People. Their Ancestral lands include the slopes and high peaks of Mt. Shasta. Each year the adults gather on the mountain for a meeting. After the ceremony has been finished on the first day, they divide up and the men go one way, thewomen remain at the firepit. While they are in their  meetings they talk about the issues of the Tribe. At the end of the day’s meetings the women will sing a song, and the men return and join them at the fire. Together they discuss their concerns.

The reason they are known as the Eagle People is because of the many, many eagles who nest on the rocky crags of Mt. Shasta. Eagles mate for life, the female’s choice, and here in the land of the Wintu the female eagle has a test that she uses to pick her life companion.

She will fly down to the valley floor, sometimes as much as a half mile below, and pick up the largest log of wood that she can carry in her talons. Flying back up into the sky she drops the log, and as it hurtles down toward the valley floor she screams….her shrill cries echo outward and down into the canyon.

Young male eagles, just entering their prime, hear her cries and come racing toward the hurtling log. They hit at it with their sharp talons as it falls, until one catches it and carries it upward where she waits on a narrow ledge, and drops it at her feet. She repeats this several times, watching to see who catches it most often and returns it again to her. This is the mate she chooses; the one she will never leave.

She and her mate build their nest together on the same ledge she has chosen for the test. Time passes, and soon there are eggs. One by one the eggs hatch, and the little eaglets become the responsibility of both parents. One day, a little eaglet decides that its time to leave his nest. There is no test drive, no practice run on the narrow ledge, and whether his tail feathers or wing feathers are strong or not – he leaps…. And if he isn’t mature enough he loses his balance and like the log, hurtles downward toward the valley floor hundreds or even thousands of feet below……and his mother screams.

The father Eagle hears her cries and remembers them from before. He races toward the hurtling eaglet and catching it in his talons, returns it to their nest.

Earlier in the same summer of this Toronto Gathering the Tribe had gathered for their annual meeting on the slopes of Mt. Shasta. When the women’s song called the men back to the fire, the Headwoman, a Grandmother, stepped into the light.

“What are you men willing to die for?” she asked as she faced them across the fire. “We see you dying for drugs, and alcohol, and all manner of violence, or throwing your lives away behind prison bars.
Our children are falling, they are crashing against the rocks…..the women scream for you now…..will you come?”

A good day to die has become something of a cliche following the all too frequent and free handed use of such words to adorn book titles and romanticize rhetoric by those who would also make a cliche of our traditions and ceremonies in marketing them.

Everyday isn’t a good to die, it depends on the circumstances.

One could hardly say it would be a good day to die if they fell off a ladder and broke their neck, or stumbled into the street in a drunken stupor and were run over.

Dying isn’t required to address a great many of the issues the nations face – what is required is sense of responsibility, a desire for things to be better, and a true native pride.

What it requires is to live our lives as something more than an internet video – to forgo the expectations that come with that and instead look to the expectations of our own – our women,  children, elders, and communities….those are worth dying for, not drugs or alcohol.

MAD DOG REDUX

A few years ago while walking down a street in Minneapolis I saw a poster depicting an angry poodle with a Mohawk-it was a funny enough that it made an impression on me and every once in a while I will think of it and laugh.

The other day in a blog I mentioned that Annie’s supporters were not poodles or lap dogs, but rez dogs who weren’t going to let go-kind of got me thinking about that poodle with a Mohawk and I had a mental image of a rez dog mad as hell and looking to kick some ass and take names-one fed up with all the celebrity books and ruminations.

Not being able to draw, and envious of those with a such a talent, I explained the idea to one who is known to us as sister who is very accomplished in the arts and asked if she could breathe life into it, and as you can see in the attached drawing she did exactly that.

I had more or less entitled it Rez Dog-mad as hell and not going to take it anymore, but another involved in the fight for justice and closure for Annie Mae suggested Mad Dog with a good AIM-and so it is.

Mad Dog or Rez Dog-he’s had enough and expressing an opinion held by a growing number.
We have an idea to market it through CafePress as a poster, t-shirt, or something of that nature with all proceeds going to indigenous causes.

Anyone who would care to is welcome to post such a cause or if they too have a talent might consider doing something similar, maybe even an Ebook if they have a literary talent-it’s more than about the amount, it’s about doing what one can.

The CafePress idea never came to fruition after looking at their fee. I know someone who went that way and they made something like twenty cents on a cup or shirt, not sure which.

THE SACRED THINGS REDUX

There was a man whose life spanned the latter part of the fifteenth century well into the sixteenth century known merely as Stańczyk who served as court jester during the reign of three different kings.

He is remembered in his native land of Poland as being more than a jester, but also a man of intellect and philosophical insight, and has become a symbol to his people in their recurring and historical struggles for independence.

Stańczyk is credited with having said to “stir the nation” but not to “tarnish the sacred things, for sacred they must remain.” and that brings me to the point I would make.

Statements such as this have not been singular events during the course of struggles for independence, there are those who have echoed similar sentiments and understood that if those things that define a nation like traditions, ceremonies, and spiritual beliefs are devalued that in the destruction of these lays also the destruction of a people. That the preservation of such will ultimately define the independence, and they should be a standard to invoke and a calculus to measure those who would lead by and the direction taken.

The history of the Polish people has been fraught with suffering much the same as that of the nations-they have exhibited the same willingness to fight for what is theirs just as the nations have. And like the nations have endured genocidal policies directed at them-it is fitting that they too would seek to defend what is sacred among them and I would say to those who would condemn all of Europe and it’s people that they take a moment and view them as something more than a fan base or demographic to solicit donations from.

If any would claim affinity with Palestinians and liken their circumstance to a reservation then likewise they should recognize the trials and strengths of the Polish people. Suffering is neither selective or discrete-no one has ownership of it.

It has long been my contention that in the rise to dominance by AIM in the sixties a process of the marginalization of Elders and their traditional roles was undertaken and effected.

It would follow as a matter of consequence that the “sacred things” would become tarnished, we can see that it is so when an organization such as AIM makes claim to a “spiritual foundation”.

We can see that it is so when ceremonies were tarnished by the presence of alcohol and other abuses at Crow Dog’s so called Paradise-when honoring ceremonies were held for the least deserving-when the abduction, rape, and murder of an indigenous woman was condoned by an act of silence rather than condemnation and a focused anger as it once would have been.

In this tarnishing, in this marginalizing of traditional roles, is a loss that more than the current generation must bear-it is a loss the unborn will inherit and forever be lacking their true measure in , their birthright. It is one thing to accept a condition as an individual, as a people, it is another to allow or nurture it’s existence as legacy to pass on.

A patriot? an advocate? well and good-be one, but know what it is you would fight for-and in this always make it your commitment to stand for the things that are sacred-in doing so your efforts will be defined as service or destruction, and the inheritance you leave will be a worthy one.

There has been destruction enough to now tolerate it at the hands of any among us-be they gangs, rapists, murderers, bloated politicians (tribal or otherwise), abusers of women and children, alcohol or substance users, and more importantly false prophets who would wrap themselves in the banner of the people and the blood of the ancestors.
